A Day at the Canyon

We arrived at the Canyon on Friday afternoon. Our room was not quite ready so we went down to the canyon. In the last blog, you saw the pictures of my first glimpse of the canyon. (It'll take me a long time to get over that.) It wasn't too long that we were there and it started to rain so we headed back to the lodge. We downloaded the pictures that we had already. After the rain was over, we went back out to the canyon. The pictures here are from that late afternoon and the following day. As you could probably guess, this is only a few of the many pictures we took.

Sparky got close to the edge. There was a young couple here right before us and they stood right on the edge to get a picture. It scared me. I'm not usually afraid of heights but this is really high.

Since it had just been raining, God gave us a rainbow. It was beautiful.

This is one of the trails that you can take down to the bottom.

The trail at the bottom. If we ever go back, I would like to stay longer and go to the bottom. There is a sign at the top of the trail that says, "What goes down, must come up." haha

This pictures does not even come close to showing how magnificent this view was.

Sparky and Contralto.

Here we are again. Notice how brave we are when there is a railing. You will also notice that we are appropriately garbed in our Bama gear. It was the day of the Alabama/Florida game. Sparky was somewhat upset about the possiblity of missing the game but it turned out that we were able to watch it at a pizza place there at the canyon. We had MANY people comment to us that day about Alabama, some positive and some "Go Gators". It brought out many fun conversations. We even got a "War Eagle". I was shocked at how manhy people knew about the game that was to be played that evening. Football brings us all together. :-)

The Colorado River down there.

You can see the river in this one too.
Ps. 104:24 - OLord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom thou hast made them all. The earth is full of thy riches.
Ps. 8:3-4 - When I consider the heavens, the works of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man that thou visitest him?
